Harry Hull - Meritorious Service

The idea was simple enough. Create an event that would celebrate the tremendous athletic history of Glendale Collegeand get it done sooner than later. The year was 2001 and it would take over a year for the inaugural Glendale College Athletic Hall of Fame banquet and ceremony to take place.

Almost as important as the five inductees and one team that were honored in March of 2002 was the passion and commitment of that original HOF committee that included among others, Harry Hull, a 2014 HOF inductee for his meritorious service to the college.

Hull is now an emeritus member of the Foundation board after 22 years of service, including a stint as Board President from (2008-2010). He said that he considers his participation on the HOF committees as one of his biggest accomplishments as a volunteer at Glendale College.

“I have been a realtor for 30 years in Glendale and have participated as a volunteer for many different organizations including the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis and the Glendale Educational Foundation,’’ said Hull. “But I’m very proud of the work that the Glendale College Foundation does for the students and the college.’’

“That is why I feel a little uncomfortable being singled out for this honor. Many people have banded together to make this event as successful at it has become over the past 13 years and I’m humbled by the honor of induction.’’

If he had it his way, Hull would much prefer to be sitting at a table with his wife Debbie, enjoying the event as he always has as a proud contributor behind the scenes. As always, he has filled a need within the HOF committee serving as chair of the event in 2012 and the emcee from 2007-2011.
