The Glendale College Vaqueros stayed unbeaten on the young season, earning a 7–4 road win over East Los Angeles behind a balanced offensive attack and shutdown bullpen work.
Glendale jumped ahead early, scoring runs in four of the first seven innings while collecting 12 hits on the day. David Lozano powered the offense with a big afternoon, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, two RBIs, and a run scored, providing key extra-base hits that kept pressure on the Huskies' defense. Jackson Lyons also delivered in the clutch, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Andrew Garcia added two hits and an RBI.
At the top of the order, Jake Price crossed the plate twice, and Matt Hazlegrove chipped in with two hits and a run scored, helping Glendale consistently turn lineup depth into runs.
On the mound, the Vaqueros leaned on their bullpen after a competitive start. Cris Banuelos earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief, allowing just four hits while striking out four to completely shut down East LA's offense. Colby Bette closed the door in the ninth, tossing a clean inning to secure the save.
Glendale also played clean baseball defensively, committing no errors, while taking advantage of East LA miscues to extend innings.
With the victory, the Vaqueros improve to 2–0 overall, showing early-season poise on both sides of the ball as they continue their nonconference slate.
