Vaqs Continue To Win Despite Being Off

The Glendale Vaqueros traveled to Orange County to take on the Orange Empire Conference's Santiago Canyon College Hawks on Tuesday. This, after being off for ten days and having five games canceled due to rain.

Colorado University Pueblo transfer Mia Sanchez got the job done in the circle pitching her third seven-inning complete game of the season while striking out eight. Her two run double to right center in the third inning gave the Vaqueros the lead for good in route to the teams 13th win in 15 tries with the 6-1 victory. Annaliese Ruiz made her career debut hitting in the lead off position. Ruiz did a great job at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and swiped two bases. Azusena Lopez extended her hitting streak to nine straight games with two doubles. Jazmin Jaquez recorded her fifth multi-hit game. JorJa Hernandez stole two bases.

The Vaqueros will next be action at the Glendale Sports Complex on Saturday, February 28th in a doubleheader against Southwestern with the first game slated for a 12pm start and the second will begin approximately 30 minutes after the first.
