Glendale Falls to Long Beach Despite Early Defensive Effort

Glendale struggled to generate offense in a 10–1 loss to Long Beach, as a big third and fourth inning by the home team put the game out of reach early. Long Beach plated four runs in the third and added six more in the fourth, capitalizing on timely hitting to build a commanding lead. Glendale managed to avoid the shutout with a run in the fifth but couldn't overcome the deficit.

Despite the loss, a few GCC players showed solid performances at the plate. Catarina Anzalone, Annaliese Ruiz, Mia Sanchez, and Alyssa Perez each recorded hits, while Jeyslen Orial drove in Glendale's lone run with a sacrifice fly. Anzalone also added speed on the bases with a stolen base. In the circle, Jazmin Jaquez went four innings against a tough Long Beach lineup. While the Vaqueros couldn't find their rhythm offensively, there were still individual efforts that stood out in the matchup.
