Glendale Finishes 2025 on a High Note with Win vs. Ventura

The Glendale Vaqueros women's basketball team closed out 2025 with a strong home win, pulling away in the fourth quarter to defeat Ventura 62–45 on December 30 at Verdugo Gym. Glendale set the tone early with a 17–8 first quarter and sealed the game by outscoring the Pirates 20–11 in the final period to improve to 10–4 on the season.

Glendale was led by a balanced effort on both ends of the floor. Kaitlin Johnson paced the Vaqueros with a game-high 19 points, adding 5 assists and 4 steals. Sammy Velasquez delivered an all-around performance with 15 points, knocking down 4-of-5 from three-point range, while also contributing 7 assists, 3 steals, and a block.

Inside, Shadel Ffrench dominated the glass with a huge 21-rebound night to go along with 14 points, anchoring Glendale's defense and physical play in the paint. The Vaqueros finished with a 44–20 rebounding advantage, which proved to be a key difference.

Glendale shot 46.3% from the field and 40% from three, using defensive pressure and second-chance opportunities to pull away late and secure the convincing win.
