The Glendale College Vaqueros showed grit on the road Saturday but came up just short in an 84–79 loss to Santa Ana College. After trailing 45–35 at halftime, Glendale surged in the second half with sharper shooting and ball movement, outscoring the Dons 44–39 to nearly complete the comeback.
Brandon Blair led the team with 19 points on 6-of-15 shooting and 3-of-4 from three, while Jacob Allen added 17 points and four assists. Omree Bentov contributed 14 points and six rebounds, and Hunter Smith sparked the bench with 13 points on 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Armen Darakchyan dished out five assists, helping the offense stay fluid.
The Vaqueros shot 39.4% from the field and 38.7% from three, totaling 15 assists as a team. Despite being out-rebounded 56–33, Glendale's energy and late push kept the game close until the final minute.
Now 0–2, the Vaqueros will look to build on their strong offensive showing as they continue non-conference play next week.
