Vaqueros Fall Short at Antelope Valley

The Glendale College Vaqueros couldn't overcome a tough first half, falling 70–59 to Antelope Valley on Saturday afternoon despite a much stronger showing after the break.

Glendale trailed 31–17 at halftime but came out with renewed energy in the second half, scoring 42 points and trading baskets with the Marauders down the stretch. The Vaqueros shot 39.3% from the field and forced 19 turnovers, but Antelope Valley's efficiency inside proved to be the difference.

Brandon Blair led the way for Glendale, finishing with 14 points, five steals, and solid perimeter defense in 37 minutes. Off the bench, Jacob Allen gave the Vaqueros a major lift, shooting 5-for-9 from the field and scoring 13 points in just 22 minutes. Joshua Ballard was another bright spot, adding 11 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting, along with four rebounds.

In the frontcourt, Omree Bentov battled inside, pulling down a team-high eight rebounds to go with seven points, while Myles Wainwright contributed defensively with two steals. Glendale also showed depth, getting scoring contributions from multiple reserves as they tried to chip away at the deficit.

Antelope Valley was led by Amado Coleman's 22 points on near-perfect shooting and Mister Burnside's 19-point, 13-rebound double-double, which helped keep Glendale from completing the comeback.

The Vaqueros drop to 7–13 overall (2–4 conference) but showed resilience and balance in the second half as they look to build momentum heading into their next matchup.
